My LinkMachine installation is unable to send e-mails. Why?:

Go to Change Settings, E-mail Settings. In the description text below Use LinkMachine To Send E-mails, there is a link labelled "here" that can be used to send a test e-mail from LinkMachine. Click on that link.

If you successfully receive the test e-mail, then LinkMachine is correctly sending out e-mails. If you do not, then do the following.

Download the file utility_scripts.zip by clicking here. Unzip the file and upload the script mail_test.php into your site's linkmachine directory. Run that script from a browser. Enter your e-mail address and have the script send you a test e-mail.

If you do not receive the test e-mail, then your web server is not set up correctly to send e-mails. Contact your web host's tech support and let them know the URL of the mail_test.php script on your site. That script is a demonstration of the problem, and if they can change the configuration of your web server so that the test script can send out e-mails correctly, then LinkMachine should also be able to send out e-mails.

If on the other hand you did receive the e-mail sent out by mail_test.php, then your web server is able to send e-mails correctly. In LinkMachine's E-mail Settings, make sure that the fields SMTP Server Host, Username, and Password are all empty. If LinkMachine is still not sending out e-mails correctly, you can let us know through the support page and we will look into the problem further.
