Link From Home Page Not Found

This message appears if there is no link found on your site's home page that points to your site's link directory page. In order to exchange InstantLinks, you must first place a link on your home page, to your link directory page. This ensures that all sites exchanging InstantLinks with one another are posting valid links on their site that can be found by visitors and search engine spiders.

The page that displays this error message also shows the URL of your site's LinkMachine link directory page. Make sure that there is a link to that URL on your site's home page.

Note that LinkMachine considers the page that you entered as the Site URL under Site Settings to be your site's home page. That is the page it is searching for the link to your link directory page.

If you're unsure how to place the link on your site's home page, one useful tool is NextEdit, a simple online web page editor that doesn't require any knowledge of HTML.

If you do already have a link to your link directory posted on your home page, but LinkMachine is not recognizing that link, check the HTML code of your home page to make sure that the link on the page that comes immediately prior to that link is correctly terminated with a </a> tag. If the previous link is not terminated, LinkMachine will often fail to correctly recognize the next link.
